We're very pleased to have Dr. Wayne Boone and Ms. Patricia Moore of the University of Carleton speaking at the conference on 15 November 2014. They will be addressing the academic aspects of systems engineering and how it is taught at Canadian Universities.
The presentation summarizes the extent to which systems engineering (SE) is taught in Canadian Universities, and the importance that is placed on it within the various academic disciplines. Then the presenters outline how they took an SE approach in the development of the applied segment of the interdisciplinary professional Master degree program in Infrastructure Protection and International Security (MIPIS) from first principles. This is especially interesting since it demonstrates how SE can be utilized in the social sciences within academia.
Full details on the talk, biographies and conference details are available on the conference web page here.
